Adult Survey (Emma Style!)
Tired of all of those surveys made up by high school kids? Have you ever kissed someone? Missed someone? Told someone you loved them? Drank alcohol? Here you have 39 questions for the people who are a little older. Tag me when you finish…
1. What bill do you hate paying the most?
Emma Says: I hate paying the utilities if they are not included in the rent. It is such a hassle! I also hate paying a separate internet bill. I prefer to pay all of my bills at once; have them consolidated into one bill or on a system where the money I owe is automatically pulled out of one of my bank accounts every month.
2. Where was the last place you had a romantic dinner?
Emma Says: That is an interesting question. I don’t think I have had a romantic dinner since high school when I dated my first boyfriend, and even then it felt really awkward. LOL
3. What do you really want to be doing right now?
Emma Says: I want to be building a business that is centered around all of the things that I love to do; writing, art, and music.
4. How many colleges did you attend?
Emma Says: I attended two colleges: Coconino Community College, where I received my Associate’s Degree, and Northern Arizona University, which I am taking a break from, but intend to re-enroll in and finish out my English Major program at.
5. Why did you choose the shirt that you have on right now?
Emma Says: Who said I was wearing a shirt? *Raises an eyebrow.*
6. What are your thoughts on gas prices?
Emma Says: It depends on the time of year. When the tourist season hits, I don’t expect to find reasonably priced gas anywhere in town. When the tourist season dies down, gas prices are reasonable. Luckily, I have a car that gets great gas mileage, so I don’t have to fill up my tank very often.
7. First thought when the alarm went off this morning?
Emma Says: “I laugh at you alarm clock! It is illegal in some parts of the world to get up this early, did you know that?” Then I hit the snooze button and sleep for another half-hour.
8. Last thought before going to sleep last night?
Emma Says: I hope that sexy angel Azrael visits me in my dreams again. We are dream dating, you know.
9. Do you miss being a child?
Emma Says: Not really. I like being an adult way better. I never considered myself a child, even when I was one. LOL
10. What errand/chore do you despise?
Emma Says: I despise any errand that forces me to interact with other members of the human species, such as grocery shopping, going to the bank, filing my taxes…yeah, I pretty much despise them all.
11. Get up early or sleep in?
Emma Says: If I had it my way, I would sleep in every day of the week. I have said it before, and I will say it again; it is unnatural to wake up before the sun rises every day, yet somehow I am forced to do it because of my job. Places of employment really need to open later in the United States!
12. Have you found real love yet?
Emma Says: Well this is kind of a tricky question. There are a lot of people who I thought I was in love with, but when I thought about it later, it turned out that I wasn’t really in love with them at all; I just liked the fantasy of being in love with them or the unrealistic expectation I had of the relationship we were in, which had nothing to do with the real relationship. I think I will always be in love with my first boyfriend, but we have one of those ‘not meant to be’ situations and probably will never end up with each other in the end. It’s all very complicated.
13. Favorite lunch meat?
Emma Says: Can I pick them all? I suppose not. Well if I has to choose one, I would probably chose salami but roast beef would come in a very close second.
14. What do you get every time you go into Target?
Emma Says: I stare at the target sign and wish I had a bow and arrow to shoot it with. One time I bought a Nerf gun for that specific purpose, but the projectile was made of a flimsy materiel and it never hit the center of the target sign when I aimed for it. It might have hit a pedestrian instead. I was running too fast in the other direction to notice.
15. Beach or lake?
Emma Says: I pick both. I don’t care if that is allowed or not. I love the water and I love to swim so you’ll find my chilling at either one of these places in the summer.
16. Do you think marriage is an outdated ritual?
Emma Says: I guess it works for some people. However, if I ever find my soul mate, I don’t want to have a marriage ceremony. It seems a little too formal to me. I prefer to be hand-fasted or have a legal partnership.
17. Sopranos or Desperate Housewives?
Emma Says: Neither. My favorite show will always be Firefly!
18. What famous person would you like to have dinner with?
Emma Says: I would prefer not to have dinner or any association in general with a celebrity. They have their life and I have mine. I like to keep it that way. Now if we were allowed to have dinner with someone in history, I would have dinner with Ramses II. He was a sexy bitch.
19. Have you ever crashed your vehicle?
Emma Says: Not yet. I am knocking on wood as soon as I say that, though. I would prefer that it didn’t happen in the future.
20. Ever had to use a fire extinguisher for its intended purpose?
Emma Says: Yes, during a demonstration at my school I did. I have also used one for its unintended purpose. Don’t ask.
21. Ring tone?
Emma Says: All of the ring tones on my Palm Pre are from the Legend of Zelda. I have Zelda’s Theme Song set as my ring tone right now.
22. Strangest place you have ever brushed your teeth?
Emma Says: Um…I am not sure. Perhaps in the woods? I brush my teeth when I go camping or hiking which seems kind of odd since I am trying to be one with nature but somehow end up bringing a Crest toothpaste tube and a Reach toothbrush with me…
23. Somewhere in California you’ve never been and would like to go?
Emma Says: Well, I was born in Culver City, California, and I lived with my family in L.A. for five years. I have been to Disneyland, California Adventure, and Sea world more times than I can count. I have also been to every major beach in California. I guess I would like to go to San Francisco. I have never been there, and I hear that the city is very nice.
24. Do you go to church?
Emma Says: Sometimes. I do not consider myself a religious person (I am spiritual and do not align myself with one religious belief), but every once in a while it’s good to go to one church or another and have a good chat with the man upstairs.
25. At this point in your life would you rather start a new career or a new relationship?
Emma Says: I’d rather start a new career. In fact, I am exploring some other options right now…
26. How old are you?
Emma Says: I stopped answering that question at age 18.
27. Do you have a go to person?
Emma Says: Yes; my go to person is Pat. He always gives me the best advice. I love you Pat!
28. Are you where you want to be in life?
Emma Says: Yes and no. I am where I want to be emotionally, but I am not where I want to be in terms of my school, career, or completion of personal goals, so I am working on getting these things done.
29. Growing up, what were your favorite cartoons?
I liked all of the cartoons on Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, and Disney Afternoons. I also liked some of the cartoons on Kids WB and Fox Kids.
30. What about you do you think has changed the most?
Emma Says: My opinion of other people has changed the most over time. I used to have a pretty pessimistic view of human beings, but I met people who changed my mind and taught me that there is still hope for humanity.
31. Looking back at high school were they the best years of your life?
Emma Says: They weren’t the BEST years, but they were necessary to get through in order to be where I am now so cherish them for that reason.
32. Are there times you still feel like a kid?
Emma Says: I prefer feeling like an adult. But I guess Christmas makes me feel like a kid. Or New Year’s, because it is like starting over and gaining a new perspective on things.
33. Did you ever own troll dolls?
Emma Says: OMG Trolls! Those accursed, jewel-bellied, freaks of nature with bad hairdos! I had a Goth troll and its tummy jewel was a black diamond. I got it from my aunt, who apparently thought it matched my personality. Everyone’s a comedian these days. Heh.
34. Did you have a pager?
Emma Says: Nope, and I never intend to own one either. If I wanted to use prehistoric technology, I would buy a car with stone wheels attached to it like in the Flintstones or write checks to pay for my groceries instead of using a debit card at the grocery store.
35. Where was the hang out spot when you were a teenager?
Emma Says: Probably Wal-Mart. My friends and I would spend hours goofing off there. I think we got thrown out one time. LOL Or Denny’s. We used to hang out there a lot too.
36. Were you the type of kid you would want your children to hang out with?
Emma Says: Heck no! I was a trouble maker, and all of my friend’s parents knew that. LOL
37. Who do you think impacted your life the most?
Emma Says: All of my friends and family have impacted my life and have taught me something about myself. I can’t choose just one person because they have all shaped me into who I am today.
38. Was there a teacher or authority figure that stood out for you?
Emma Says: My seventh grade English teacher stood out to me because she encouraged me to write and return to school when I missed a whole semester because I was too depressed to go to school.
39. Do you tell stories that start with “when I was your age?”
Emma Says: Yep, because I look young and it is funny to see people’s reaction when I start stories out that way.
